Lending Support

The charity I was able to tour aims to provide job opportunities for those who are mentally/physically handicapped, who often struggle to communicate with others. In order to support the workers, the factory also has staff members on standby who are instructed to aid the workers when the occasion arises.

During a tour of a bakery founded by a local charity in Taiwan that aimed to support those with extra needs, I was given a chance to experience some of the jobs that were tasked to the employees with extra needs (mental/physical disabilities)

Upon taking up these jobs, I was able to get a better grasp of the worklife of the bakers. After doing significant research, I learned that due to the demand for cost efficient workers, those with disabilities have a big disadvantage when it comes to job hunting.
